The process starting from the human arousal to ejaculation and then to male orgasm is a complicated one and there are many factors that cause that chain of reactions. It is difficult to pin-point any one of these above mentioned factors as the correct cause of premature ejaculation – a condition in which a male loses control of the process from arousal to orgasm. However, one of the fundamental reasons why premature ejaculation occurs is because of lack of control of the ejaculatory functions due to one or more of the following reasons:
- The human body is primitive when it comes to its natural responses. Because nature demands results, the natural outcome of a male’s sex organ would be to ejaculate such that reproduction happens quickly. Premature ejaculation is a direct result of such evolutionary human habit.
- Engaging in masturbation excessively – this conditions the body to achieve an orgasm quickly with help from the mind which forms mental images, scenarios that seem to induce sexual tensions that help in ejaculation.
- Inexperience in sex, over-anxiousness in the sexual act itself, inability to have any control in the semen release mechanism, etc., are common causes too.
- A long period of an inactive sex-life, deficiency of serotonin, performance anxiety are some of the other common causes of premature ejaculation.
